Freshly installed DataSync server (SLES 11 SP1) works file with self-generated SSL cert.

In order to avoid manual certificate/CA installations to mobile devices, we purchased a Digicert SSL cert. The CSR was generated using openssl command as follows:
openssl req -new -newkey rsa:2048 -nodes -out mobile_corp_fi.csr -keyout mobile_corp_fi.key -subj "/C=FI/ST=Oulu/L=Kajaani/O=Corp Ltd/OU=IT/"

We send the csr to Digicert and whose "other" as server platform.
* ref: Novell Documentation
* the is not "CherryPy Web server" in Digicert CSR options so chose "other" as instructed by Digicret support

Received the cert and the following files:
07.01.2011 05:07 2*256 DigiCertCA.crt
07.01.2011 05:07 1*537 DigiCertCA2.crt
07.01.2011 05:07 581 INSTALL_INSTRUCTIONS.txt
07.01.2011 05:07 2*394 mobile_corp_fi.crt
07.01.2011 05:07 1*740 TrustedRoot.crt

Then started the openssl conversion process in order to produce needed cer and pem files (mobility.pem, mobility.cer)

Combining Files Received from a Certificate Authority
* Novell Documentation

cat TrustedRoot.crt mobile_corp_fi.crt > mobility.crt

Converted crt to cer with instructions from What is the difference between a .CRT and a .CER file?
* The file extensions .CRT and .CER are interchangeable. If your server requires that you use the .CER file extension, you can change the extension by following the steps below:
* Double-click on the yourwebsite.crt file to open it into the certificate display.
* Select the Details tab, then select the Copy to file button.
* Hit Next on the Certificate Wizard.
* Select Base-64 encoded X.509 (.CER), then Next.
* Select Browse (to locate a destination) and type in the filename yourwebsite.
* Hit Save. You now have the file yourwebsite.cer

Convert crt to der:
openssl x509 -in mobility.crt -out mobility.der -outform DER

Convert a DER file (.crt .cer .der) to PEM
openssl x509 -inform der -in mobility.der -out mobility.pem

gwdsmp1:/home/admin/certs/digicert_rekeyed # ls -l
-rw-r--r-- 1 admincn users 1537 2011-01-07 05:07 DigiCertCA.crt
-rw-r--r-- 1 admincn users 564 2011-01-07 05:07 INSTALL_INSTRUCTIONS.txt
-rw-r--r-- 1 admincn users 2394 2011-01-07 05:07 mobile_corp_fi.crt
-rw-r--r-- 1 admincn users 1768 2011-01-09 16:08 mobility.cer
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4134 2011-01-09 15:37 mobility.crt
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1244 2011-01-09 16:20 mobility.der
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1740 2011-01-09 16:22 mobility.pem
-rw-r--r-- 1 admincn users 1740 2011-01-07 05:07 TrustedRoot.crt

Copied pem ja cer files to directory /var/lib/datasync/device/
cp mobility.pem /var/lib/datasync/device/
cp mobility.cer /var/lib/datasync/device/

Restarted the connectors:
rcdatasync-connectors restart

Shutting down DataSync Connector Manager done
Starting DataSync Connector Manager done

Before restart the https services worked with self-generated SSL certificate.

After restart the https won't answer anymore.

1. What am I doing wrong with the adobe certificate procedure?
2. What log files etc could I look for in order to troubleshoot the https service start error

Best Regards, Harri
