After several more attempts of installing and unstalling, we finally
got the VPN client to install on the IBM Thinkpad. However, when theclient is started, he gets this message:

"The Novell VPN driver is not installed
Please check for available and valid vptunnel driver"

So, I checked the properties of the LAN and dialup services and the
vpn adapter shows up as a resource. I compared the properties with
other laptops that are working OK. I cannot see anything that looks
wrong. Since this is the only Thinkpad that we have tried to use, I
am not sure if that is an issue or if something else installed on thecomputer is conflicting with the VPN driver. If it comes down to a
problem with the OS, we can always format and try again, but this is a

bit drastic since the laptop is loaded with programs and data. I washoping this update might shed a bit more light on the subject.
