OES 2 SP1 (it's a long story!)

I have a user who is unable to directly access a folder on an NSS volume that he does have rights to.

He can access the folder from his PC running XP/Novell Client ie. via NCP

Output from RIGHTS command on server in question:

rights -f /media/nss/VOL1/Common effective user1.container.it.ds.tree

Effective Rights
File: /media/nss/VOL1/Common
User: user1.container.it.ds.tree
[read, write, create, erase, scan, modify]

However if he directly connects to the server and goes to the directory he gets: Permission Denied.

What I've done so far:

namcomfig cache_refresh
namconfig restart
nscd restart
ndsd restart
unmounted and remounted volume
nsscon - ResetIDCache

The user does exist on the server and is LUM enabled (he can login):

getent passwd|grep -i user1

The user in question needs direct access to the directory on the server (another long story!). He also accesses this folder via an NFS mount to do data exports from another Linux server - also get's Permission Denied when doing this (obvioulsy!).

What has changed: I moved the user to a different eDir container
The server does have a R/W replica of both containers.
The move was successful and there are no stuck obituaries on the server

Does anybody have any idea how to solve this. Any ideas/suggestions would be welcomed.

Thank you in advance
