One of our customers runs a Novell environment that is being migrated to Windows. Because they are so familiar with ZENWorks they want to keep that as their workstation management platform. All new servers will be virtual servers on VMWare.

ZENworks 11 is available as an appliance with Linux underneath, but can also be installed on a Windows server OS.

IMHO the appliance is easier for the customer to use, because they don't have to worry about Windows pathces etc. On the other hand, there is a different OS that they *might* have to learn to find their way on. Or is the appliance hiding the OS completely?

In other words: Is there some sort of reference table that can help to choose between the appliance or server?
