We are attempting to speed up our site-to-site VPN for some new
software
we are using this year that needs access to a central database
occasionally.
The VPN has been fine for transferring files, etc., but is extremely
slow
when a secretary wants to enroll/withdraw a student or enter
attendance
because it pulls that function from the central database.

I've "tweaked" each server according to the appropriate BM
settings and
that helped quite a bit, but would we be better off using a "Star"
configuration or "Ring" compared to the default "Mesh"? I'm assuming
we
only want "One Side" connection, but is it necessary to have both IP
and IPX
protocols up? Could we get by with just one, and knowing that IPX is
more
"chatterful", wouldn't IP be the best choice.

I appreciate your ideas and suggestions!

Thank you!

Tim
