I'm looking at diversifying our WAN radio routes so we'll end up with
multiple paths to the same remote site. Each site sits within its own

We also have vlan and QoS shenanagins thrown in to the equation.

Taking a look at some of the Cisco documentation, there is an
implication that you can use STP to effectively handle instances of
multiple paths for path redundancy - I appreciate that there is a
convergence time, but I was under the impression that STP is really
there to stop errornous plugging in of cables creating loops?

OSPF is probably a better choice, but I believe OSPF requires us to
purchase some more advanced licencing for the Cisco kit we have and I'm
not sure I can push that through.
