So, what's the latest thinking and best practices for Windows 'native' file access to NSS volumes located on standard (non DSfW!) OES2 servers, within a DSfW environment?

From reading other posts, it sounds like CIFS performance far exceeds Samba...

How are people configuring CIFS?
Is it even possible for the OES2 CIFS to authenticate against a '3rd Party Domain' that is actually the DSfW domain, or should it just be left purely eDirectory?
If purely eDirectory do you still have to mess about with the Domain Password Policy, etc. (as mentioned in ?
