We currently employ an OES2 SP3 Linux server as our file server. However, the storage provisioned is dated and very costly to expand, thus we're in the process of migrating the storage to a different solution.

What is the best way to migrate roughly 2 TB worth of data to a different storage? i.e. Should I connect the new storage to the old server and move/copy over? Or should I build a new server and use the server migration tool (will Linux to Linux work in this case?) to replace the existing server?

Please let me know if there is any best practices or procedure TID on this!
