Perfect Practice software utilizes the client/server database Advantage by
Extended Systems. Software works fine on workstation on the LAN. Take same
workstation and connect it with VPN and get error "Unable to find the
Advantage Database Server or unable to find a bindery on the network". By
using Ethereal and taking a packet trace on the workstation found that the
workstation was doing UDP Multicast to 224.0.1.55 to try and find the
Advantage Database server. According to the packet trace, there was no
answer to the UDP Multicast.

What must be configured on the VPN for this to work?

Using BorderManager 3.8 SP4 Beta on NetWare 5.1 SP8.

Here is applicatable portion of packet trace.

No. Time Source Destination Protocol
