I have a ZCM11.1a Satellite Server running Server 2008R2 that I want to uninstall/reinstall to a different drive (move off of the OS drive and onto a data drive). It is a fresh install to begin with, as I realized my mistake right after the initial install completed.

The problem is that I can’t seem to uninstall it. Choosing both uninstall and unregister the device from the zone as well as a local uninstallation only result in the same error. Leaving components on the device such as CASA does not help.

It will get to the progress screen and then before actually starting to remove Zenworks, it fails with the following Uninstallation Status Message:
Uninstall failed. This maybe because the Endpoint Security Client password was not entered or entered incorrectly.

Here are the debug messages from the log at the point the uninstallation fails:
DEBUG 2011-12-02 11:40:33,760 - Uninstalling packages...
DEBUG 2011-12-02 11:40:33,760 - Attempting to remove ESM client
DEBUG 2011-12-02 11:40:41,182 - Uninstall Password for ZESM not entered/entered incorrectly. Exiting uninstall
DEBUG 2011-12-02 11:40:41,182 - the ESM client uninstall exit code is 1603
DEBUG 2011-12-02 11:40:41,198 - Uninstallation Failed
DEBUG 2011-12-02 11:40:41,198 - Uninstall failed. This maybe because the Endpoint Security Client password was not entered or entered incorrectly.

We don’t use ESM in our zone and I have not configured ESM with a password. The uninstall process seems to be authenticating to the Primary Server without a problem when “unregister from the zone” is chosen. I have full local/domain admin rights. I have also disabled UAC.

I found this exact error in TID #7009226 “Unable to uninstall ZCM 11 from Primary Server” but the solution said that the problem was fixed in 11.1. I went ahead and tried the workaround: removed zenwsc.dll, but this did not help. The error also appears in the following thread: http://forums.novell.com/novell/nove...-register.html , but the scenario is very different with different debug log entry.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.
