Several years ago we created a Nickname that was used as a generic e-mail for contacting our agency. The user that this Nickname was assigned to recently left our agency. When his replacement was hired, I went into this user's account and deleted all of his Nicknames, then went to the new user's account and created all of the Nicknames there. All of the Nicknames created just fine for this new user except for one.

When I try to create this particular nickname, I get the following error message:

"An error occurred while trying to create the given nickname"

The Nickname I am trying to create is "sacog". The e-mail address for this nickname would be "".

Our PostOffice is named "SACOG"

I am wondering if GroupWise no longer allows a Nickname to be the same name as the Post Office?

Is it possible that when I deleted this Nickname from the original user that something went wrong and GroupWise still thinks that it exists?

I have looked through Novell's website and searched around the Internet, but haven't been able to find any answers to this problem.

Any help, suggestions, or insight would be appreciated.
