error configuring the Kanaka Server via Wizard in Step 2 / 4

Testing the Kanaka Client for Mac we have an error configuring the Kanaka Server via Setup Wizard in Step 2 of 4:

After selecting the context where the Kanaka Proxy Object and the Administrator Group should be created and clicking on the next button the Wizard displays an error message >Unknown Directory services error has occurred< and stops. We are not able to complete the Wizard and do not find any message in the log(s) and eDirectory traces which let us know what is going wrong.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Does the container you're adding the Kanaka Proxy object to have a
    Universal Password policy assigned?

    Simon,

no. So I assigned a Policy ( AFP Default Policy), but no success, assigned our Company Policy, also no success.

Sorry it wasn't a trick question - if there is a UP policy assigned to
the container (so one that will affect the KanakaProxy object) then you
need to check minimum/maximum password length as I believe KanakaProxy
has 35 characters in it's password!

So the container you're adding the Kanaka Proxy object to has a UP
policy assigned to (or affecting) it?

If so, check the minimum/maximum password length as I believe the Kanaka
Proxy object has 35 character in it's password!

    Hello Simon,
After increasing the maximum pw length to 40 characters i am able to go through all setup steps.
I am able to log in from a mac client using the kanaka client.
