Hopefully a simple question at its root.

With the latest Win 7 patches in the wild, and being on the cusp of the release of Win 8, is the CIFS offering on a fully patched NW65 SP8A implementation supportable on heavily used file share/application NSS volumes?

I know most of the file locking issues were knocked down on the last, and unadvertised, code release if I remember correctly. I also presume that the SMB version supported is severely depricated at this point as well.

So, with a very large userbase and very heavy volume use model in mind ... would you support such an implementation?

Opting for a DSfW or OES 11 implementation being the assumed supported solution ...

All "opinions" welcomed, sought and thank you in advance ...
