I figured, since my thread title was off the mark, I'd start a new one,
hopefully with more pertinent information.

First I did this after making a VPN connection:

G:\cwv_bak\jobdocs\2006>net use k: \\192.168.21.2\volume1\

The I did

K:\> cd \jobdocs\2006

and got

K:\jobdocs\2006>

Then switched back to G:, a drive on my own Netware 6.0 network, and
issued this:

G:\cwv_bak\jobdocs\2006>xcopy k:*.* /y

Here's a screen shot

File creation error - The specified network name is no longer available.

G:\cwv_bak\jobdocs\2006>

So, I think the error is local because the only files getting created
are on my side, but my network otherwise works fine and I never see this
error, and it had copied files for maybe 30 minutes before the error
happened.

I am clueless on this one. I'm trying it again with the /m argument to
xcopy so I don't have to keep recopying the same files <sigh> but I
didn't really want to even have to think this hard. :)
