Hi Guys,

During installation of OES 11 I got some errors to do with LUM and creating AdminGroup and Admin. I just clicked on OK and let the install finish but I think the LUM issue is down to LDAP and is causing errors in storage module of IManager.

Well I went back and tried reconfiguring LDAP and LUM.

LDAP seems to configured fine and it connects. We have NDS installed on a Windows server and using a different secure LDAP port from 636 as I believe that is the LDAP port for the Windows Domain. We are using port 637.

I don't understand why the LUM part isn't working as the LDAP part is.

When I look in the /var/log/messages file I get the following..

May 1 17:39:44 MLSERV sfcb[23323]: nds_nss_GetPwdbyName: init sock returned 0
May 1 17:39:44 MLSERV sfcb[23323]: pam_succeed_if(sfcb:auth): error retrieving information about user admin
May 1 17:39:44 MLSERV sfcb[23323]: nds_nss_GetPwdbyName: init sock returned 0
May 1 17:39:44 MLSERV sfcb[23323]: nds_nss_GetPwdbyName: init sock returned 0
May 1 17:40:13 MLSERV id: nds_nss_GetGroupsbyMember: Failed to init socket, status = 0

When I run the command namconfig -k , I get the following....

namconfig: /usr/lib64/libldapssl.so.0: no version information available (required by namconfig)
namconfig: /usr/lib64/libldapsdk.so.0: no version information available (required by namconfig)
namconfig: /usr/lib64/libldapsdk.so.0: no version information available (required by /opt/novell/eDirectory/lib64/libldapx.so.0)
namconfig: relocation error: namconfig: symbol ldap_set_option, version NLDAPSDK_VERSION not defined in file libldapsdk.so.0 with link time reference

When I run this command netcat -zv 192.168.23.3 389 637 , I get the following....

192.168.23.3: inverse host lookup failed: Unknown host
(UNKNOWN) [192.168.23.3] 389 (ldap) open
(UNKNOWN) [192.168.23.3] 637 (lanserver) open

Is it possible to change it to use the non secure port?

John.
