Hi Sebantijan,

This behavior is noticed on some servers, we are working on this.

As you noted on the control panel, for some reason request is not being processed that is leading to failure of subsequent requests. request 178 has already taken 232 seconds but not completed the process, in normal working conditions it would not take not more than 2/3 seconds.
<snip>
178 232s /simias10/SyncHandler.ashx
179 131s /simias10/SyncHandler.ashx
180 31s /simias10/SyncHandler.ashx
181 1s /simias10/SyncHandler.ashx
</snip>

You may want to try the tuning parameter from the attachment.

Database is not corrupt, in case db is corrupt when you restart it would not let you do any operation, and it would generate the falim ERR.

Hope you have proper back in place for iFolder data.

regards,
gg

Copy of iFolder server tuning steps
===========================================
iFolder uses Apache and mod_mono for running the server. For scalability, we might have to tune the following parameters.

1. /etc/apache2/conf.d/simias.conf

#set MONO_THREADS_PER_CPU=2000, if you server is on a good hardware you could have this set to 4000
#set MONO_NO_SMP=1 if you are running on a muli-processor machine and facing connection isue.
#above two parameters to be set in the line where you something like below line
MonoSetEnv simias10 "SimiasRunAsServer=true;SimiasDataDir=/var/simias/data/simias;MONO_THREADS_PER_CPU=4000;MONO_NO_SMP=1"

#Change the max requests set on mod_mono process, default value for iFolder would 150 and 250
MonoMaxActiveRequests simias10 2000
MonoMaxWaitingRequests simias10 1000

2. /etc/apache2/server-tuning.conf

#iFolder runs behind apache worker thread, locate <ifModule worker.c> and do the changes under this section
ServerLimit 120
ThreadLimit 256
MaxClients 14250
ThreadsPerChild 250
MaxRequestsPerChild 0 for unlimited
KeepAlive off

3. /etc/security/limits.conf

# Add the following two line at the end of the file. You can go upto 1lakh for the below param.

* soft nofile 16384
* hard nofile 16384
# restart the server and check ulimit -n for wwwrun user.

# above line will set the limit for all users for specific user, we could use the following lines
wwwrun soft nofile 16384
wwwrun hard nofile 16384
# For now go with wildcard setting as we are yet to get the user specific settings working.
# editing /etc/password and setting to /bin/bash for wwwrun user instead of bin/false do the trick though, yet to be tested.

Hi all,

our ifolder server does not accept any connections. I have enabled
mono-ctrl and I can see that requests are not processed. When I stop
apache I always have to manually kill simias10 process.

After apache restart Mono control panel shows:
simias10

4 requests currently being processed; limit: 150; total:
4

0 128s /simias10/DomainService.asmx
1 120s /simias10/DiscoveryService.asmx
2 38s /simias10/SyncHandler.ashx
3 16s /simias10/DiscoveryService.asmx

0 requests currently waiting to be processed; limit:
150

If I kill all iFolder clients I can use admin page. But as soon one of
them connects simias service becomes unresponsive.

I have disabled all ifolders and tried to create new ifolder but as
soon as I created new ifolder, simias process stopped.

Mono control panel shows:
simias10

4 requests currently being processed; limit: 150; total:
182

178 232s /simias10/SyncHandler.ashx
179 131s /simias10/SyncHandler.ashx
180 31s /simias10/SyncHandler.ashx
181 1s /simias10/SyncHandler.ashx

0 requests currently waiting to be processed; limit:
150

Is it possible that flaim db is corrupted? How can I check db and
repair it?

Best regards,
