So we're evaluating a few Mobile management products. It appears that ZENprise needs Touchdown (extra cost) to do device encryption on Androids 3.x or higher. Further, the touchdown client has to sit "in between" the device and the GW Mobility pack (so now you have one more thing to troubleshoot when syncing isn't working).

Mobile Iron's product appears to NOT need touchdown for Android encryption of 3.0 or higher devices from Samsung and certain other vendors.

The ZMM product data sheet seems to indicate that ZMM also needs touchdown (again, extra cost) to do encryption on Android devices.

Is that correct?

And does the Touchdown on ZMM also "sit in between" the device and the Mobility server like it does with ZENprise?
