In a setup with several ZCM 11.2.3a Primaries with ProxyDHCP enabled we will see a sort of load balancing when the broadcasts from booting devices get answers from different ZCM servers according to how fast they answer. And this is expected and good.

In a setup with Servers on seperate VLAN than the imaging devices, we need IP helpers on the switches to forward the broadcast packages to the proper this results in the behaviour that it always is the first configured (in IP helper) server that respons - only if the Proxy DHCP service is down in this server does it failover to the next in line.

How can we load balance correctly in a VLAN environment ?

Ideas - apart from using same subnet ?
