    PLAY link for WAV files not working

    Hi All

    When a message has an attached WAV file (ie: from the voice mail system) you get a PLAY link instead of VIEW. If you click on the PLAY link, instead of the file playing, it just brings up a window with gobbledygook such as:

    RIFF��WAVEfmt @@data����}}}��������������}��� �}��}�������������}����}��}�}��}�����}������������ ����}}�}����}���������}}�����������}�������}����}� �}�}�{�}}�}��{�}}�}��}��{��{�}�{��{�}}�}��{��{ �{}�}��}�}��{��}�{��y��}�y��w�w�w��v�}z�w��v�}{�w ��w�}{�w��w�{{�w��v�{|�w��w�}{�w��u�{y�u��v� }

    If you click the file name all plays fine after you tell the OS what to open it with. It obviously doesn't know what to do with the file when you click PLAY.

    I have tried editing the webacc.cfg and added WAV to the Document.View.excludeDocExtensions section, but the PLAY link still appears.

    Any ideas what else I can do to either get the PLAY link working or remove it completely.

    After a little research on older TID's and some use of Wireshark, it seems that I'm having the same issue as in TID 10067350 - "Webaccess will not play attachment .WAV files and will not save correctly". The TID talks about webaccess not returning the correct MIME type to the browser - html instead of x-audio/wav. There was an FTF at the time to fix it. Can anyone point me in the right direction of how I might be able to tinker with anything to fix this up, or will I have to open an SR?

    Hi Emily,

    Interesting... never noticed that play link till you mentioned it.

    What I'm seeing is that the play link will open in IE (version 10, the desktop version on Windows 8) but returns that gobbledygook when trying to open it in FireFox.

    It could well be a bug. I'll drop the question with my Novell contacts and let you know.

    Seems a generic issue, though I don't know if it's browser related, something in WebAcc or a bit of both.
