Hello there,

we're in the process of migrating 2 Netware 6.5 servers to OES11. At the moment we're running two OES11 nodes and one NW6.5 node in a cluster, and as soon as everything's working the NW6.5 is going to retire. All resources are migrating nicely to OES11, except for the Master_IP_Address_Resource: when it migrates to OES11, it never registers itself to SLP as a bindery service and no client can log in, who are conveniently setup to use the cluster IP DNS name for logging in. The problem seems to be that although the docs state that the line "NUDP ADD clusterservername ipaddress" will be translated to "exit_on_error ncpcon bind ‑‑ncpservername=ncpservername ‑‑ipaddress=ipaddress" that never happens for the Master_IP_Address_Resource.

So, my questions are:
  • Is it intended behaviour for OES11 that you cannot use the cluster master IP for logging in by default?
  • And if I wanted to add that behaviour I have to manually add a "ncpcon bind" command to the load script?
  • Is there a way to do this while still in a mixed cluster situation?
