Hi,

I finally got a grasp on why sfcbd would sometimes leak memory like crazy:

PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
26180 root 20 0 1195m 990m 2424 S 0 24.1 777:36.53 sfcbd

It seems to happen after a sfcbd initiated poll of xadsd, see this 'ps
axf' excerpt:

10278 ? Ssl 2:30 /usr/sbin/sfcbd -d
10279 ? S 0:00 \_ /usr/sbin/sfcbd -d
10281 ? S 69:12 \_ /usr/sbin/sfcbd -d
26470 ? S 0:00 | \_ /usr/sbin/sfcbd -d
17735 ? S 0:00 | \_ /usr/sbin/sfcbd -d
3157 ? S 0:00 | \_ /usr/sbin/sfcbd -d
10282 ? S 1:32 \_ /usr/sbin/sfcbd -d
10285 ? S 0:00 \_ /usr/sbin/sfcbd -d
10286 ? Sl 0:07 \_ /usr/sbin/sfcbd -d
10291 ? S 0:04 \_ /usr/sbin/sfcbd -d
10370 ? S 0:01 \_ /usr/sbin/sfcbd -d
10495 ? Sl 2:59 \_ /usr/sbin/sfcbd -d
10516 ? Sl 10:10 \_ /usr/sbin/sfcbd -d
10534 ? Sl 3:02 \_ /usr/sbin/sfcbd -d
10576 ? Sl 0:46 \_ /usr/sbin/sfcbd -d
26180 ? Sl 777:52 \_ /usr/sbin/sfcbd -d
26473 ? S 0:00 \_ /bin/sh /etc/init.d/xadsd status
26484 ? Sl 0:00 | \_ /opt/novell/xad/libexec/xadsd -S
17738 ? S 0:00 \_ /bin/sh /etc/init.d/xadsd status
17749 ? Sl 0:00 \_ /opt/novell/xad/libexec/xadsd -S

Also in this situation it seems to use quite a lot of CPU power. If I
use 'kill -KILL' (-TERM doesn't seem to be enough) on the 'xadsd -S'
PIDs, everything goes back to normal.

AFAIR this only happens on the PDC DSfW OES11SP1 Xen-VM with 2 CPU cores
assigned to it, so I guess this problem is at least amplified by DSfW in
PDC mode and/or running on more than one CPU core.

Is this a known problem? If not I will open a SR.

regards,
Franz
