Hello, we're a school running Novell Service Desk 7.0.1 and ZenWorks 11 SP3. Currently if we need to reapply an operating system image to a student laptop, the process is: Log Service Desk Job (find owner of laptop, find computer/item number, select "image" classification, save job, print job, stick it to laptop)... find machine in Zenworks, apply assigned imaging bundle, away we go. The process adds up to 1-2 minutes per machine, which can add up to a lot of time if we end up re-imaging 10-20 in a day. (Kids with administrator access to their own machines can be a dangerous thing!)

To streamline this process, we'd like to have an automatic email sent to our Novell Service Desk containing all information needed to automatically log a job with all required fields populated, at some point during the imaging process.

What we'd like to achieve is a situation where we 1) Scan computer barcode into zenworks. 2) Click "Apply assigned imaging bundle" 3) Log into Service Desk, then print the automatically generated job for that laptop.

Has anyone else done anything like this before? If so, how did you go about it? If not; does anyone have any pointers regarding how this could be achieved?

Thanks in advance!
