Thread: How to access any entry by it's ID in java?

Question How to access any entry by it's ID in java?

    Hello,

I'd like to get the object representing Folder's entry having ID I know.
There is a class ResolveIds but I'm afraid it only manages principals, i.e. users, groups and teams.
But I need is to resolve IDs for entries of any type.

    Thanks in advance

Use method folderModule.getEntry, I think (I don't have access to Vibe API now) there are two parameters: binderId and entryId; binder ID can you set null.

Re: How to access any entry by it's ID in java?

    Hello all,

I am trying to delete an entry in a folder from a custom action, for example I move the request on completion into another folder, but when the source request updated I need to update the destination one also.

My plan was to re-copy it but this cause a duplication in the destination folder.

So I make a custom action to delete the request for me using this code ( getFolderModule().deleteEntry(FolderID, EntryID); ). But this didn't work as the appserver log gives me that the user is not allowed to delete entries and I don't want to give delete entries permission to all users.

Kindly advise how could I run the custom action is the context of ADMIN so it can deletes the needed entries.

    Regards,

Solved by allowing the workflow process background actions to run as the Folder owner

    Thank you
