After requesting a way to get DBAN running on the Preboot setup and taking the advice to move to a dd command to wipe the drives I have found my summer help getting a little to antsy and rebooting the laptops thinking they are either finished or stuck. My command is basic and I place a warning that the process will take some time.

I played a little with a few bash scripts that try to provide a progress bar or at least a method to notify the end user that the process is still running. I can't seem to get any script to really function correctly. In the interest of saving time and my sanity, I was hoping someone else has already create a bash script that does this that they might like to share.
