I have an HP DL380 G8 server that was running Windows Server 2012. Did
a P2V migration of that Windows server and now I want to re-use the
hardware for an OES 11 server. I removed the RAID array and recreated
it using the HP utility. But during the OES 11 install, I get this
error: "The partitioning on disk /dev/sda is not readable by the
partitioning tool parted, which is used to change the partition
table." I found a post on the Suse forums where someone had a similar
problem. They found that SLES was reading the original partition even
though the RAID array had been recreated. They used a "rescue system"
to clear off the old information (they were installing a new SLES over
a previous SLES). I'm not sure what this rescue system is. But does
anyone have a suggestion as to how I can clear the array so SLES can
do the partitioning?
