First of all some basic infornation about the env :

- SLES 11 SP2 x64 + open enterprise server 2
- Subversion server setup according to
http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/feature/19985.html ( this article is
also listed @ netiq howto's, just couldnt find it while typing the post)
- subversion server is funtional and up (as far as i can verify with the
steps mentioned in the howto)
- authentication and access to the repo is eDir integrated via LDAP (
tested, works over the web)
- Designer is at AU4a ( latest patch) , no updates available - running
off a wintendo system ( vista buisness x64)
- the subversion server is in the same subnet as the designer
workstation
- the interface on the server hosting the subversion server is
configured as 'internal', so theres no firewall in the way

Symptoms :
[tested]
- in designer to start using the svn repo and entering the repo location
( https://host.something ) and tabbing or clicking to the project
location next entry ( project location) designer searches for projects
indeffinately ( i got bored after i went to sleep and still was
searching when i woke up 6 hours later)
- in designer to start using the svn repo and entering the repo location
( https://host.something/svn/repolocation ) and tabbing clicking to the
project location next entry ( project location) designer searches for
projects indeffinately.
- access/error/ ssl logs of Apache2 do not show any activity nor errors
( as if its not reaching the host at all)

In both cases after waiting more then a gracefull (+30mins) period i
cancelled the operation.. then the dialogue for searching for projects
hangs, clicking the X after just gives a message you need to cancel the
current operation before closing the dialogue

So to say i don't know where i'm going the wrong way .. everything seems
in order and works fine till designer tries to access the repo and hangs
?

any help would be appreciated on this

PS.

The thing i noticed when testing it locally off the server i was 1st
asked for my root password before being asked a username and password (
the credentials for the eDir user)
-> (assumption) this might be an issue not part of this forum

Back to the part where it is IMHO a designer issue is that designer
should not indeffinately and produce some kind of error to atleast let
me continue instead of me needing to kill it via taskmanager.
