You need to set the groupType attribute to "8" in your subscriber channel of the application AD.
That will keep it as a Universal Group
Example:
<do-set-dest-attr-value name="groupType">
<arg-value>
<token-text xml:space="preserve">8</token-text>

</do-set-dest-attr-value>

The easiest way to do this is to use a role or a rule to update membership in a static group such
that it then behaves like a dynamic group. Otherwise there is no event to process so membership is
never updated in your connected systems.
