Let's try to figure things out:

There are a couple of methods to get the comments - see section "18.3.4
Comments" in the Admin Guide to identify the calling conventions.


To access the comments you'd typically need either a requestId (the
specific workflow) or a workId (a specific approval step). Some of the
methods add some query/filter.

getCommentsByType() may be the easiest to test from an integration activity.

Can we safely assume that you have the requestId (or workId)? In a
workflow, you may use mapping activities to get them.

Also, do not forget to add the credentials to the SOAP call.

Often it is easier to test your IDM SOAP call in tools like SoapUI or
browser plugins.
