    IDM 4.5 - Workflow - Write to catalina.out

    Hello,

    I have a simple yet strange problem. Since the dawn of time, I have used
    Packages.java.lang.System.out.println("Text here") to troubleshoot my
    workflows. But in IDM 4.5 this does not seem to work anymore. No errors
    in catalina.out the line is just ignored and nothing is written to the
    log file. Has something changed? I am 100% certain the code is executed,
    because everything else in the function is executed.

    Is it not possible to do it like this anymore, or am I doing something
    wrong?

    Thanks in advance,

    Jacob.

    You're not the first person I've heard report this, but the response to
    the other person was that "It works for me." Care to share your code, and
    how the code is called, and which version of Tomcat and Java you are
    using? I know it's just simple 'Text Here', but seeing it in context may
    help a bit, or knowing the other details may help isolate the problem for
    some customers but not other parties.

    I had the same issue, seems to clear up after a restart of the tomcat
    server.

    Also, which platform are you on? The other person I know who saw it said
    he only saw it when running the UserApp outside of Linux hosts.

    You are right! It works now, after a restart! That is so weird!

    I did it from a mapping activity, like so:

    Code:
    --------------------

    function getUserByCPR()
    {
    var user = IDVault.globalQuery("qUserByCPR", {"CPR": flowdata.get("CPRNumber")})
    Packages.java.lang.System.out.println("####CREATE USER#### Check if user exists: " + user);

    return(user);
    }
    getUserByCPR();

    --------------------

    UA server specs:

    IDM 4.5
    SLES 11 SP3
    Tomcat:
    Server version: Apache Tomcat/7.0.55
    Server built: Jul 18 2014 05:34:04
    Server number: 7.0.55.0
    OS Name: Linux
    OS Version: 3.0.101-0.46-xen
    Architecture: amd64
    JVM Version: 1.7.0_65-b17
    JVM Vendor: Oracle Corporation

    Thanks for the help guys!

    Jacob.

    Greetings,
    Was the issue seen right after installing? Meaning that you had
    not restarted Tomcat since the install? Just trying to better
    understand to track this.

    In my situation it is kind of random, one workflow would work fine.
    Another one would cause it to break, after which all tracing would stop.

    Greetings Daryl,
    In your step-up, do you have all of the 4.5 applications deployed on
    this Tomcat
    -Identity Applications (User App, landing, dash, rra)
    -Identity Reporting
    -SSPR
    -OSP

    If not, what applications are deployed?

    I have the following installed on my server:

    -Identity Applications (User App, landing, dash, rra)
    -Identity Reporting
    -OSP

    It also seems to be random for me. I had restarted the Tomcat several
    times before I noticed this problem.

    Jacob.

    This is a single server install for all of the apps.
