    Any News on this Bug? Still seems in Designer 4.5
    Any Workarounds?

    Hi,

    I do field.hide() and field.show() instead based on whatever logic is
    best in the current document.
    You could even have two fields, one that is editable and one that is not
    editable and based on the logic show the one that is supposed to be
    shown.
