Has anyone else encountered issues with NetIQ alerts during monthly
patching cycles? Each month, when we have patching scheduled, there are
hundreds of servers that are rebooted in one night and the result is
that many NetIQ alerts are "broken" as far as the auto-close capability.
We rely on this capability to inform our NOC team that issues have been
resolved, but on patching weekends I always get a call late at night
asking me to clear all events and restart the NetIQ monitoring servers
to verify what is truly "up" or "down". We get both ping and website
alerts that are 'stuck' ... i.e. the server and/or website is actually
back up, but the alert is still on the screen and won't auto-close. Has
anyone encountered this and/or found a solution for this issue?
