    orchestration eval license applied today but does not work


    I applied and downloaded the Orchestration Server Evaluation license
    today, but got the following license error while installing
    Orchestration Server 2.3

    Should I paste the Evaluation license info(KEY, SERIALID) here ?

    Please help

    Where, and when, did you get the evaluation license? I have not used one
    in the last two weeks, but if this license came from the customer center
    then was it generated for you a while ago, or did this come from the
    product itself during the install?

    I've sent a message into NetIQ to see if this is a static evaluation
    credentials needing to be updated, but knowing more of how you arrived
    here may help expedite things.

    I've heard back from somebody within NetIQ through a friend there and they
    said that there couple be a couple of things involved, and the best way to
    get it fixed is via a Service Request (SR) opened via the Customer Center.
    Is that an option for you?

    I also having the same licensing issue, and I got the trial/eval license
    from Customer Center.

    If SR is required then it means you must be using any of the
    Novell/NetIQ product to get the evaluation license of Cloud
    Manager(orchestration server). In another words Trial/Eval of Cloud
    Manager/Orchestration Server is available only for existing Novell/NetIQ
    customers only.

    That makes some sense, though it implies some things which may not be
    true, which is why I asked if it was an option. If the response to that
    is 'no', then subsequent recommendations may be to contact a sales rep,
    who may be able to work outside of the support process in a more-official
    capacity than the forums. If the issue does require an SR to get a trial
    license updated, the SR should be refunded in any case.

    Either way, I'm passing along your similar experience so that the power
    that be know this is happening for multiple customers. If you are unable
    to open an SR, perhaps try a sales rep, or let me know and I will see if
    there is a way to get somebody more-directly involved.

    I have contacted the NetIQ Sales guy, and awaiting his response, but I
    know he wont be able to reply me before Monday.

    Either NetIQ should make the product easily available by providing the
    eval license without such difficulties or declare it for paid customers
    only, but current position is quite disturbing.

    I heard back from management today (earlier, about thirteen hours ago
    even... I was out so sorry for the delay) that they see this problem for
    what it is and are actively working to resolve it. I do not know how
    quickly I'll find out once the updated evaluation licenses are pushed out,
    but it may be worthwhile to check back regularly to see if the updated
    codes are there. Once I hear conclusively that the issue is believed to
    be resolved, I will update this thread.
