If you're going to store some kind of large binary or character data in
an eDirectory attribute you should set the attribute up as a Stream
attribute. The other types may set an upper size limit of 2^31-1 bytes
but due to some limitations in NCP (the protocol used in eDirectory for
connections) the limitation is much smaller. Stream attribute can be
split up when replicated so they work regardless. I do not know that
this is your issue currently (-649 is usually something else... maybe
restart eDirectory to see if that helps) but unless you're dealing with
tiny amounts of HTML (< 32Kbytes or so) eventually you're going to hit
other issues that are harder to fix.
