Environment: Windows 2008 R2, eDir 8.8.7

I am installing eDir 8.8.7 in an existing tree.
The install fails after quite a bit of time because of timeout. The
install log says, "install failed, too much time".

Authenticating to the directory is fast but when I try to search for
driver sets from the iManager overview page, it takes more than 3
minutes to find the driver sets from [ROOT]. I think this is the
problem during the install as well.

Using the GUI installer, it also takes quite a bit of time to connect to
the existing tree in order to choose the admin account, etc. However,
that part does eventually work. It's just when I say to begin the
install that things take forever and eventually timeout.

I've tried tuning eDirectory but nothing seems to help. dsrepair
returned only one error for 4 replicas, which I thought was too low. It
seems that there are always some errors and so zero errors on 3 servers
and 1 on the fourth seems too good to be true.

In any case, does anyone have any suggestions on how to troubleshoot
this process other than what is available in the eDir tuning document?
