choosing applications to run at startup

I've been asked from my client to have NSL launching several
applications at startup, based on the users' preference.

I thought about showing the users a check list with all the
applications we've hooked with NSL and let them check which one to get
running, and then somehow save them and make NSL run them at every
startup. The only command that would let me prompt the user to select
something from the a startup definition would be PickListAdd/Display,
but the user can only pick one item in the list.

Granted it's not possible to write a definition for each user, is there
a way we could let the users themselves specify from a list which
applications they want NSL to run at startup?

Any idea is more than appreciated! : )
