When you mounted it did you set it to be owned by the 'novell' user
which also runs Sentinel? If you become the 'novell' user (`su -
novell` using the 'root' user) can you do anything in that mountpoint,
such as the following?

touch /data01/testfile

If not, fix permissions. There are a lot of ways to do this
potentially. The easiest is to create a directory, make it owned by
novell:novell, and then point Sentinel to that directory. Only slightly
more work is to setup your mountpoint to be owned by novell from the
start so you can use anything in there.
