Could it work by modifying the configuration.xml properly and then
pointing this machine to another main Sentinel server? Possibly. Would
I try it? No. A CM installation is trivial to do and will mean you're
safe and supported. Other than time required to uninstall and then
reinstall and patch this is a cheap/easy thing to do, and while what
you're proposing may work flawlessly it is not supported and was never
tested. As soon as something quirky starts flowing in you'll always
wonder, on your own, whether or not it is because of this operation.
