as per Oracle Database Collector Guide 'Oracle_Database_6.1r2.pdf'
<snip>
Connection Modes

Novell provides two different methods by which audit data can be
captured from Oracle Database:

1. Normal JDBC read of the audit tables: with this method, the Sentinel
Collector Manager host will initiate a JDBC
connection to the database, issue a standard SQL query, and process the
results.
2. Invocation of a stored procedure to read the audit tables: with this
method, the Sentinel Collector Manager host
will initiate a JDBC connection to the database, but will invoke a
stored procedure which must be pre-installed in
the database; this stored procedure will read the audit tables and
return records to Sentinel for processing.

per the 'database_connector.pdf'
<snip>
As the Database Connector reads data from the database and the Collector
processes it, Sentinel keeps track of its offset, or
position in the data. The next time the Connector starts, it uses the
saved offset to start where
it stopped. This prevents the Connector from skipping data or sending
duplicate data.

One of my customer is collecting Oracle DB Events, using Sentinel
provided 'Oracle Collector' and 'Database Connector'. The Database
Admins are
asking us that configure your Log Manager to connect our Database at an
Interval of at least 60 seconds, because as per the DBA every time SLM
connects to
the Database it scans/read/query the complete AUD_TRAIL(AUD$ Table),
which causes serious performance issues.

Keeping in view the above details, I have a question, is there any
option to configure the SLM(Database Event Source or Database Connector)
to connect the database
at an interval of 60 seconds ?

I went through the docs but didnt find the way to configure the Query
Interval option(though there is an option to configure Auto Reconnect to
set the number of
attempts and time interval to attempt to reconnect to the database
server if the connection is lost)
