using File Connector(nfs mode) I have to collect events from a file
'access.log' under /var/log/squid directory

NFS Server is configured as

Code:
--------------------

/var/log/squid *(ro,no_root_squash,sync,no_subtree_check)

--------------------

on SLM server as usre 'novell' I can mount nfs share
Code:
--------------------

novell@logmanager:~> sudo mount 192.168.0.1:/var/log/squid /mnt

--------------------

but can't check the contents of the directory
Code:
--------------------

novell@logmanager:~> ls -l /mnt
ls: cannot open directory /mnt: Permission denied

--------------------

which is obvious, because on NFS Server /var/log/squid has following
permissions:

Code:
--------------------

proxy:~ # ls -ld /var/log/squid/
drwxr-x--- 2 squid root 4096 Apr 18 13:26 /var/log/squid/
proxy:~ # ls -l /var/log/squid/access.log
-rw-r----- 1 squid root 36975868 Apr 18 14:03 /var/log/squid/access.log
proxy:~ #

--------------------

i.e 'others' has no permission

SCP mode is also not practical, because SCP mode requires a manual
restart of the event source(in ESM LiveView) after every 4-5 minutes,
Connector's manual explains:>
> The SCP only performs a single copy of the remote files (for example:
> snapshot), reads the copy, and then stops. To read the updates to the
> files, restart the Connector. The Connector takes another full copy of
> the remote files. The Event Source node in ESM will start only after the
> copy of the remote file is completed. This can take a long time if the
> file size is large.

Please help me
