Are there any experiences with performance of encrypted hdds? (benchmarktool: "AS SSD Benchmark")

  • With normal "non self encrypting" hdds we could measuer a performance loss of 40% - 50%.

  • Even with self encrypting hdds (Samsung SSD 840EVO) we sometimes noticed an impact of around 5%-10% less benchmarkpoints in testresult

Self encrypting hdd performance...OK...but the 40%-50% less performance with normal hdds will bring me in trouble with my endusers
Maybe there are some kind of tuning-tipps for deployment?
