Thread: Adding REST/JSON driver to IDM402 engine?

Adding REST/JSON driver to IDM402 engine?

Yeah, I know, the docs for the REST driver say it requires IDM45. Problem
is, I need the REST driver now, and don't have time to plan, test, and
upgrade the production instance to IDM45. So, anybody done this with a
remote loader? I can put the IDM45 RL on a box somewhere, and I think
that ought to work, even if it's not supported. The REST driver doesn't
seem to need any of the IDM45 specific features, as far as I can tell.

I have tried this. It didn't work.

Copied the required jars (same as for designer)into the engine and
    restarted.

The driver failed to startup properly and shut down with fatal status
    during publisher init.

Didn't save the error/trace but recall it looked like it wanted another
    idm45 class which wasn't available.

Gave up and went back to doing rest with soap driver got that customer.

Bummer. So just moving it to an RL isn't sufficient?

Having gotten Designer's simulator to work, I wonder if it's the same
thing. Unless it needs to newer Jvm, that would be a problem that would
    be harder to work around.

Nope. I had hoped the o365 driver model would work here also.

The idm402 engine was fully patch as of last month when I tried this. So
that included bumping jre to IIRC 1.7

Also think the 4.5 RL was patched to latest RL patch which bumped jre to
    1.8

This was all on Windows btw.

Don't think it was JRE related at all.
You can definitely try and see what he exact error you get (I vaguely
    recall it was activation related).

I have since switched to work for another company. Moved jobs at the start
of this month. As a result, any notes I did take (and the test setup I
used) are not accessible to me any longer.
