1.0 What’s New?

The following outline the key features and enhancements provided in the
Designer 4.6 Beta 2 release:
1.1 LDAP Support

Designer 4.6 Beta 2 uses Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) to
connect to the Identity Vault. This improves the performance of accessing
objects from the Identity Vault. While connecting to an Identity Manager server
from LDAP-based Designer, you must provide the user name in LDAP format. For
example, cn=admin,ou=sa,o=system.

The use of LDAP protocol also allows Designer to natively run on an OS X
1.2 Performance Enhancement

The performance of certain operations of Designer has improved in this release.
You will experience quicker responses while performing live operations such as
importing, deploying, and comparing objects with the Identity Vault.

4.0 Known Issues in 4.6 Beta 2

NetIQ Corporation strives to ensure our products provide quality solutions for
your enterprise software needs. The following issues are currently being
researched in 4.6 Beta 2 release. If you need further assistance with any
issue, please contact Technical Support.
4.2 General Issues
Designer Reports an Error While Connecting to a Live Identity Manager Server
Over a Secure Channel

Designer prompts you to import server certificate to establish a connection
with the live Identity Manager server. The server certifcate can be imported
temporarily or stored permanently. However, accepting the certificate
temporarily will result in errors on establishing the connection again. If you
accept the certificate permanently, Designer reports an error in the error log,
which is safe to ignore.

Workaround: Perform the following actions:

Restart Designer.

Accept the certificate permanently while establishing the connection with
the server.

Server Not Associated While Deploying a New Driver Set

Deploying a new driver set fails to associate the Identity Manager server with
the driver set. This issue is not observed if you deploy a new driver to an
existing driver set.

Workaround: Perform the following actions:

Launch iManager.

Dissociate the server from all the driver sets.

Associate the required driver set with the server.

Importing Or Deploying to an Environment with Multiple Servers Does Not Work

In a multi-server environment, importing or deploying operations do not
correctly update the server-specific attributes such as Global Configuration
Values and Engine Control Values.

There is no workaround at this time.
eDirectory to eDirectory Certificate Creation Fails with an Error

The eDirectory to eDirectory certificate is not created.

There is no workaround at this time.
