    ELI5: Why is not eDirectory supported with Linux/Mac PAM ?

    I have several customers asking me why Linux and Mac PAM modules requires Os to be joined in AD ?
    I could not really give an correct technical answer, Please help explain it to me.

    Hi Magnus,

    Last releases (as far as I remember from 5.4) Linux PAM Client and Mac OS X Client do not require to have the OS joined to domain.
    You should switch the corresponding event's type from "OS logon (domain)" to "OS logon (local)" and then during logon it will be required to map the domain account which you will use for login to a local account.
    At the moment you may login with only Active Directory users. Other repositories are not supported.
