Micro Focus proudly announces general availability of Reflection for the Web 12.3 SP1 the latest release of the heritage Micro Focus solution for web browser access to host applications and data.

Included in this release are the following editions:

Reflection for the Web Enterprise Edition version 12.3 SP1
Reflection for the Web Unisys Edition version 12.3 SP1
Reflection for the Web Airlines Edition version 12.3 SP1
Reflection for the Web Airlines Edition with Printing version 12.3 SP1

Whats New!
In addition to product updates in response to customer-reported issues and security vulnerabilities, and the latest updates for Java and Apache Tomcat, the 12.3 SP1 release includes the following:

New Cryptographic Module for Secure Connections

The Reflection for the Web family of products have been updated to use a new cryptographic module for providing encrypted host connections.

The previous third-party cryptographic module provider for the Reflection for the Web family of products had announced the end of support for their cryptographic module, which is the reason for this change. From this point onwards, all future security updates related to cryptography will be addressed by Micro Focus in the Reflection for the Web 12.3 SP1 release and its successors.

Micro Focus strongly recommends that customers upgrade to Reflection for the Web 12.3 SP1 at the earliest opportunity. Failing to upgrade to this new version could place them out of compliance with regulatory requirements such as PCI-DSS, which require that critical security libraries be up to date and supported. Failing to upgrade could also put customers at risk if a new security vulnerability is announced, because security patches are not expected to be available for the older cryptographic modules used in previous versions of the Reflection for the Web family of products.

The Reflection for the Web Client Support for Oracle Java 9 Runtime Environment

In Web browsers that support Java Plug-ins, customers can now use Reflection for the Web clients with the Oracle Java 9 runtime.

Administrative Console Replaces the Administrative WebStation

The former Administrative WebStation is replaced by the Administrative Console as the user interface for the Host Access Management and Security Server. The Administrative Console features:

HTML login that does not require Java
UI that expands as options are selected
Online Help, also available as the Management and Security Server Administrator Guide
