Dumb question:

So we've got some old IDM stuff (I think engine is like 4.2) and using the Oracle jdbc.jar file.
This is on OES Linux, BTW.
Our connection string (in the driver properties) is something like:

jdbcracle:thin:@dbhost3:1543:SAFED

Which, gleaning from the TNSNAMES.ORA on our Windows PC's:
dbhost3 = hostname
1543 = port
SAFED = Service Name

Does anyone know if this drive can use OID format?
(apparently Oracle 12g and possibly others can use OID instead of a TNSNAMES.ORA and other things):

jdbcracle:thin:@ldap://edboid01.abc.com:389/DATABASENAME,cn=OracleContext,dc=world

??
